Service Technician - Apprentice

An Apprentice Coffee Tech at Espresso Analyst is a position where the candidate will be in the process of completing apprenticeship training and will have the end goal of becoming a Master Coffee Tech.  An Apprentice-Coffee Tech will learn to understand the theory and practice of working on various coffee equipment and will be trained to understand how equipment impacts coffee flavor.  A successful individual in this position should be someone who is willing and able to learn and has the capacity to troubleshoot and follow complex processes.


This role requires the eagerness to learn about coffee, water, electrical theory, mechanical theory, and application. The ability to work hard and to treat co-workers and customers with respect is the Golden Standard for Espresso Analysts.

  • Franke Coffee Systems
  • Fetco
  • La Marzocco
  • Slayer
  • Synesso
  • Cimbali
  • Nuova Simonelli
  • Mahlkönig
  • Compaq
  • Bunn

This job requires both work in our warehouse as well as being out on the road to service customer's equipment. The company provides service vehicles as well as most tools that are needed to perform jobs. We require that smaller hand tools are purchased by employees.


Requirements/Experience:

  • Ability to work a Monday to Friday schedule
  • Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required)
  • Customer service experience: 1 year (Required)
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Knowledge of tools/ability to use basic hand tools,
  • Ability to work with others and have strong communication skills
  • Read and interpret written instructions
  • Able to lift 100lbs
  • Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license 


Job Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Being punctual 
  • Reporting to manager
  • Completing tasks in a timely and professional manner 
  • If a Field Tech, being flexible for travel
  • Keeping busy while in the shop
  • Keeping company property clean and in good working order

Position: Full-time

9-5 Mon-Fri. Rotation on call during the weekend.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 to 18.00 per hour or TBD by management
